Terms and Conditions


  • All items shown on this website are priced in £ sterling and include VAT @ 20%.

  • Payment can be made by cash on collection/delivery. We do have a credit or debit card facility, but due to the poor internet signal in the area, this may take longer or occasionally not be available. We also accept PayPal, BACS (again subject to the internet signal in the area) or personal cheque. Please note that cheques must clear before items are released/despatched.  

  • We reserve the right to change any advertised price without prior notice, before you place an order.

  • All products are subject to availability and may have to be ordered from our suppliers.

  • We ask for a non-refundable deposit on orders. For orders not made in person, (by email, phone or social media) this should be paid by PayPal or bank transfer.

  • We try our best to keep our website up to date, but occasionally items become unexpectedly out of stock with our supplier. Our website shows all the sizes in which the items are made, although not all sizes will be available, at all times.

  • We will take all care within our power to keep your order and payment details secure and destroy them, once a transaction is complete.

  • In the unlikely event that your goods are lost in transit or arrive damaged, please notify us at info@ashbyfancydress.co.uk


  • If items need to be posted, we offer standard Royal Mail delivery (2nd class post), depending of the value of the items ordered. Our basic delivery charge is £5.00. Proof of postage is obtained for all items. Some items incur a higher charge, due to weight, size or shape. We will advise this prior to you confirming your order.

  • If you require faster delivery, please contact us to arrange an alternative (which may be at extra cost to you).

  • We aim to send out orders within 2 working days and are only able to despatch to UK addresses and unfortunately we cannot deliver to a PO BOX address or secure home delivery boxes at this time.

  • Please allow extra delivery time at busy times, such as Christmas, where we are subject to Royal Mail cut off/last posting dates

Returns and Refunds

  • Our policy on the issue of refunds, is in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/consumer-rights-act-2015/consumer-rights-act-2015)

  • All items sold in our shop, are checked for faults before sale.

  • Before returning an item, Ashby Fancy Dress must give authorisation. Please contact us via email or phone. Once agreed, you have 7 days to return an item.

  • We will check any items, before we offer a refund or exchange. We reserve the right to refuse a refund, if the item was bought or ordered and collected from our shop. If an item was not bought or ordered in our shop, e.g. by phone, email etc, the item may be returned within 14 days of receipt.

  • If a non-refundable deposit was made, for ordering an item, this may not be refunded or may be partially refunded, depending on the item ordered, extra costs and the ability for us to resell the item.

  • When returning the items, they should be in their original unworn and unused condition, in the original undamaged packaging. You must also have your original receipt.

  • For your own benefit, when returning an item(s) to Ashby Fancy Dress by post, please ensure there is proof of postage.

  • Ashby Fancy Dress will not take responsibility for return postage, unless the item(s) were damaged or faulty when received by the customer, for which we will require proof.

  • We will not issue any refund for defects or damage caused by wear and tear, wilful damage, negligence, abnormal usage, misuse, alteration or repair. We check all the items before they are sent out, to guarantee condition and check them again before issuing refunds.     


  • The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018), which came into force in May 2018, aims to protect the fundamental right to privacy and the protection of personal data of UK and EU citizens. 

  • Our website uses cookies, as almost all websites do, to help provide you with the best experience we can achieve. For more information, please click here

  • We also collect personally identifiable information (including name, email, phone numbers); payment details (including debit or credit card information), comments, feedback, product reviews, recommendations, and personal profile (including Facebook and Twitter).

  • We do not store payment details, apart from last 4 numbers of a card used for payment. This is in case of the need for refund.

  • Any other information, name, email or phone number, will not be kept, once an enquiry, transaction or order is completed.

  • We never share personal data with any third parties.

Other Important Points

  • To ease your shopping experience through our website we have, in places, categorised by gender purely for the convenience of the customer. We have tried to keep this to a minimum, but we apologise if any unintended offence is caused.
